Joining our creative community

Whether you are just starting out or are an experienced potter, there are several ways to get involved with the Wakatipu Potters Group.

Beginners: Starting Your Journey

To ensure a safe and supportive environment, we ask that new potters first develop the skills and knowledge needed to work independently within our studio’s health and safety guidelines. We encourage you to enrol in our courses first to learn the ropes and get a feel for how our club operates. As a volunteer-led society, our members contribute to the upkeep of the studio by volunteering at least 12 hours per year.

Experienced Potters & Residents

If you are a Queenstown resident with upper-beginner skills, or have recently relocated from another pottery club, we would love to hear from you. Please email us a brief summary of your experience and skills along with your contact details, and we will be in touch to discuss potential membership.

Ceramic Professionals

We are always looking for experienced creatives to help upskill our members and enrich our clay community. If you are a professional, please email us your qualifications, contact details, and a brief proposal of how you would like to be involved with the club.

Thank you for your interest in our growing community of like-minded creatives. We look forward to being part of your journey into the wide world of ceramics.

Our membership space is currently full.
Please email us if you would like to be added to our waitlist.

Our club is run entirely by volunteers, so we sometimes find it tricky to find the time to create workshops and events.
Stay tuned for workshop updates on our Facebook or Instagram page.
